CPT-based liquefaction resistance of clean and silty sands: a drainage conditions based approach

The cone penetration test-based simplified liquefaction triggering evaluations are largely based on linking manifestations in the field to resistance. These relationships interpreted such a way that for given resistance, resistance increases as non-plastic fines content (FC) increases. However, several studies have indicated discrepancies this relationship. Hence, there is lag rational scientific understanding of observation. In study, an experimental research program was undertaken investigate CPT-based assessment by considering effects drainage conditions relationship between CPT and First, clean sand silty sands having 5, 15, 35% FC were tested at different relative densities stress-controlled cyclic direct simple shear (CDSS) tests with varying amounts fines.
